It is the overtaking car's duty to ensure the overtake is done safely. When overtaking going into a corner, the overtaking car must have the front wheel alongside the rear bumper of the defending car at the start of the braking zone. Hard racing is permitted as long as the other car is not pushed off track.
As the defending car you are allowed one defensive move on each straight. Once made you must hold the defensive line or return to your original line safely. Once the overtaking car's front wheels have reached the defending car's rear bumper the overtaking car must be allowed space on track. Weaving is strictly forbidden.
Overtaking under yellow flags is forbidden. If the yellow flag comes out follow the car ahead in a controlled manner. Incidents under the yellow flags will be penalised severely post race.
It is the overtaking car's duty to ensure the overtake is done safely. On straights, lapped cars must go off line, and allow overtaking cars to pass. Lapped cars are not required to slow on the straight to allow cars to pass. Lapped cars cannot defend while cornering; if side by side on corner exit they must yield. Lapped cars must be predictable at all times. Lapped cars don't need to sacrifice their lines during a corner.
Rejoining must be done without affecting other drivers. If other cars are coming you must wait for a safe point to emerge.
Incidents involving lag will be put down as NFA in most instances due to their unavoidable nature. If known to be experiencing lag it is your duty to race with an extra margin of safety. Failure to do so may result in a penalty. You are able to test your connection quality in GT7. The recommended ping is 20ms.
If the accused driver waits for their opponent to overtake them again penalties may be removed or lessened. There is no guarantee of a reduced penalty for waiting but the stewards may view the incident more leniently at their discretion.
During the race, drivers may wish to be present in voice chat. It is forbidden to use verbal aggression/bullying towards an opponent. Avoid "banter" about slowing opponents down or affecting opponents' race/strategies. Everyone is here to compete in a serious way, all while having an enjoyable time. Please respect each other.
All drivers must use two different tyre compounds during the race. If intermediate tyres are used during the race then a single compound is permitted. Mixed tyre compounds are strictly forbidden and will result in an 8 point penalty. These tyre compounds are allowed: Racing Softs (RS or Red), Racing Mediums (RM or Yellow), Intermediates (IM or Green). These are the equivalents to the Dunlop Sport-maxx tyres used in Supercars: Super-softs (SS), Soft (S), Wet-weather (W).
To add to the realism and fairness of the series we will have post race stewardship by the admin team (excluding any members involved in the incident). The race settings will have collision penalties set to weak for minor incidents. After each race drivers will have 24 hours to report an incident they were involved in. Once the verdict on penalties has been made the result will be published to the group. Note first time offences deemed to be accidental will be judged more leniently with lower or no penalty given.
Once incidents are published you have 24 hours to appeal an incident by sending evidence and reasoning for your appeal. All appeals must include new information/evidence presented.
Moves resulting in light contact. Moves under braking from the defensive car, causing the attacking car to heavily alter their line. Pushing a driver off line to force an overtake. The stewards reserve the right to award reduced penalties of 2 points for other incidents.
Moves resulting in more than light contact. Movement under braking from the defensive car, which causes an incident. Forcing a driver slightly off track. Deliberately blocking drivers from passing on the straight under blue flags.
Moves resulting in heavy contact. Moves which result in a penalty for the other driver. Moves forcing drivers very off track. Mixed tyre compounds on front and rear.
Intentional crash. Going slowly, stopping or reversing on track. Brake checking. After 3 penalties in a championship season the stewards have the power to remove the driver for the rest of the current championship.
